Layer

Layers are the central presentation layer of the PlexMap presentation layer. Layers can contain data from one or more repositories. The creation of a layer is always done via a switchboard. Compared to a depot, a layer always contains data optimized for presentation on the Internet. Optionally, a style can be defined for most layers.

Since different geodata have different requirements for web optimization, PlexMap uses layer types (e.g. WFS, 3D Tiles, 2D Features) each with a different loading behavior in the viewer. An overview of all layer types in PlexMap can be found here.
